• Large-Scale Complex Systems: Distributed control; decentralized control; interconnected systems; manufacturing processes; applications to web handling systems, and autonomous vehicles (UAVs).
• Information Storage Systems: Design, modeling and control of hard disc drives; modeling and control of web processing systems.
• Sensors: Design and development of sensors for monitoring and control; sensor networks.
• Biomedical Systems: Design and development of small robotic devices for colonoscopy; drug delivery using magnetically responsive nanoparticles.
• Mechatronics: Real-time control; robotic machining processes; modeling and control of constrained mechanical systems.
• Nonlinear Dynamic Systems: Robust and adaptive control; output feedback control; friction compensation; modeling of belt compliance and backlash in mechanical transmission systems.
